2. Hosting and server log files
When you visit our website, the server processes technically necessary data: IP address, date and time, requested address, amount of data transferred, browser and operating system, and the previously visited page (referrer). This serves the secure and stable operation of the website. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. The website is operated by a hosting provider that processes the data on our behalf (data processing under Art. 28 GDPR).
3. Cookies and web analytics (Google Analytics)
Without your consent, our website does not set cookies and does not connect to Google or any other third-party provider. Fonts and program libraries are loaded from our own server. We store your choice in the consent notice in your browser's local storage (not a cookie); after twelve months we ask again.
If you consent, we use Google Analytics 4, a web analytics service of Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland ("Google"). This shows us in aggregated form which pages and calculators are used, how visitors find the website and which devices are used. Google sets cookies for this purpose (including "_ga" and "_ga_*", stored for up to two years) and processes usage data such as pages visited, time on page, approximate location (derived from the IP address; according to Google, Google Analytics 4 does not store the IP address itself), device and browser. Your entries in the calculators are not recorded.
The legal basis is your consent under Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and Section 25(1) TDDDG. You can withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future via (also in the footer); the Google Analytics cookies are then deleted.
Google may also transfer data to the USA. Google is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, for which an adequacy decision of the European Commission exists. A data processing agreement is in place with Google. More information: policies.google.com/privacy.
4. Calculators
Our online calculators work entirely in your browser. Your entries are not transmitted to us and are not stored. PDF reports are also created directly on your device.
5. Contact form and email
If you contact us via the form or by email, we process your details (e.g. name, email address, phone number, property details and your request) to handle the enquiry. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR where the enquiry relates to entering into or performing a contract, otherwise Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in answering enquiries). We delete the data once the enquiry has been dealt with, unless statutory retention obligations apply.
We do not use any third-party services for spam protection. For a maximum of one hour, a counter is stored that is derived from your IP address but cannot be traced back to it (hash). The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.
6. Links to other providers
Our website links to LinkedIn and the Google Play Store, among others. Your browser only connects to the respective provider when you click such a link. The respective provider is responsible for any processing there.
7. Your rights
You have the right of access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18) and data portability (Art. 20). You may object to processing based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR on grounds relating to your particular situation (Art. 21). You can withdraw any consent given at any time with effect for the future (Art. 7(3)).
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. The authority responsible for us is the Hessian Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information.
