Building models from drawings – support for energy consultants
Assessing a building is a matter of professional judgement. Building the model beforehand is not – and on every existing property it swallows hours that rarely make it into the fee. That is the part we take on.
What we take on
You send us whatever you have for the property – floor plans, sections, elevations, as PDF, as a scan or as a photograph of an existing drawing. We build the three-dimensional model from it and return it in a form you can carry on working with in your usual software.
What you get back is a working basis: geometry, component positions, zoning. The energy assessment, the choice of construction build-ups and everything that calls for professional judgement stays in your hands – and under your responsibility.
A clear division of roles: we supply the modelling work. Professional responsibility for the advice, the verification and the funding application remains with you as the energy consultant. Our support does not change that.
How it works
Send the drawings
Floor plans, sections and elevations as PDF, JPG or scan. The more complete the dimensioning, the fewer queries we have to come back with.
We build the model
We model the geometry and come back with a specific question where something is unclear – rather than with an assumption you would have to hunt for later.
File returned
You receive the model file in the format that suits your software and carry straight on.
So you know what you are getting
A model is only as good as the drawings it comes from. Where dimensions are missing we work from reference dimensions in a traceable way and say so, rather than estimating silently. Components that play no part in the energy balance are not modelled as full components – that keeps the model lean and the processing time affordable.
